Currently we are hiring Site Quantity Surveyor in Egypt-Cairo office, candidate with experience 8 to 15 yrs experience in Power Plant in construction industry.


MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To coordinate the activities of quantity surveyors and the administration of the prime contract and subcontracts on a company project.

A quantity surveyor manages all costs relating scope of projects or subcontractors scope from the initial calculations to the final figures.

Surveyors seek to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

        A quantity surveyor may work for either the client or the contractor, working in an office or on site. They are involved in a project from the start, preparing estimates and costs of the work.

When the project is in progress, quantity surveyors keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.

JOB OBJECTIVES

1. To ensure that the administration of contracts by projects is carried out in accordance with the company policies and procedures.

2. Preparation of subcontract agreements and amendments thereto.

3. Monitor the performance of awarded subcontracts, checking, agreeing, and certifying monthly  payments and final accounts. Supervising the remeasurement of works where appropriate.

4. Assist with review and settlement of claims raised by subcontractors or suppliers.

5. Assist with the preparation of change orders to the prime contract between company and client.


ESSENTIAL WORK ACTIVITIES

• Responsibilities vary depending on the nature and stage of the project being worked on, but can include:

• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.

• Performing risk, value management and cost control.

• Advising on procurement strategy.

• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.

• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.

• Allocating work to subcontractors.

• Providing advice on contractual claims.

• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.

• Valuing completed work and arranging payments.

• Maintaining awareness of the different aspects with the project team.

• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

• Preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation

• Performing risk analysis evaluations

• Cost control

• Writing reports

• Preparing and submitting final accounts

• Making valuations

• Arranging payments to suppliers and contractors

• Providing advice and forecasts about costs

• Supervising staff.
